Correction on your initial ramblings of all the DMB shows you've attended. The Gorge shows are NOT during Memorial day weekend (which is the end of May holiday) but over Labor Day weekend, which is in September. But that is by far the best venue they play every year. How can you not love a whole weekend festival dedicated to DMB??

The Dave and Friends cruise was a blast but the weather not cooperating put a big "damper" on the events because they had no plan B for when the rain started. It was also a disappointment that they didn't plan better for this particular group of people. We drank thru all the alcohol the first night on the boat (both ships!) and yet the staff was shocked by this! What?? Did they not know who they were inviting to be on these cruises? Anyhoo, the only thing that personally saved it for us is being on the ships with GLOVE, Ozomatli, Toots and Maytals, Soul Live and actually having interaction with these great performers on your ship. Running into the lead singer and one of the horn players in Ozomatli on the way to our cabin and being able to give them hugs and let them know how much we love their music was priceless. Btw, the regular price of those cruises runs about $400.00 a piece and we speant nearly $1,500.00 just getting on the ship, not including other food and drink that is not included! Getting rained out of the concert and other scheduled events (we payed for snorkeling at the port stop in Cocoa Cay and we weren't even allowed to go to port there due to weather much less snorkel) was kinda a bummer, I just hope they have a better back-up plan this time if weather is again a factor. It is scheduled while we are still technically in Hurricane season so be aware of that!

All of that being said, we have entered in the contest because who doesn't want to go on a DMB cruise filled with like-minded people? We had a blast with the people we met even though the events didn't actually go as planned!
