Open Pandora’s Box: A New Online Radio Website

Published by Richard under Music, My A-Musings

I was just taking a look at the top 10 pop songs to see if I am missing out on any good, recent music when I came across a website called Pandora Radio.

Occasionally, I listen to the radio online instead of playing songs from my iTunes. This was the first site that was returned when I searched for “online radio” so I gave it a shot.

This site completely stereotyped me…and I loved it!

Here’s how it works: You put in the name of an artist that you like and it will create a radio station for you.

It was as if I was playing my songs from iTunes but with a much greater selection. I put the name “Dave Matthews” into Pandora because I had just seen that many people were accessing my page on the Dave Matthews Cruise (because he has a new cruise scheduled–you should go by the way, it might just be the best trip you’ll ever take!). All of the sudden I was listening to Dave, Pearl Jam, Jack Johnson, and a bunch of other artists I love.

I think I’ll be opening Pandora’s Box everyday. It’s a great, personalized online music site. Check out Pandora when you get a chance.

A Reaction to Michael Jackson’s Death

Published by Richard under Music, My A-Musings

Last night, I sat down to watch the evening news with Brian Williams when I heard the news:  Michael Jackson is dead.

My first reaction was utter disbelief–he’s too young to be dead!  We received no clues, no warnings, no serious ill-health reports.  For a moment, I thought they must have the report wrong.  How could Michael Jackson be dead?

If I give some thought to this, I know another reason that the news is rather shocking:  Continue Reading »

Funkilicious Fridays, October 3rd

Published by Richard under Funkilicious Fridays, Music

It’s Friday…your time to say, “wait, hold on, I don’t have to get up early tomorrow. I can do WHATEVER I want tonight!”

“But wait,” your friend says, “don’t you want to go running tomorrow?”

Running? I need new friends, you suddenly think. All of my friends are Goody Two Shoes.

If you don’t know what a rhetorical question is, listen to Adam Ant below, who wonders…don’t drink, don’t smoke, what do you do? Continue Reading »

Dave Matthews and Friends: Let’s Cruise Again

Published by Richard under Music

pic of dave matthews and friends cruiseWhen I heard the news a few weeks ago about the untimely death of LeRoi Moore, it shocked and saddened me.  LeRoi is a founding member of The Dave Matthews Band.  I did not know him personally but, personally, he has given me so much joy.

Really, what more can one accomplish in life?  LeRoi and the DMB Band have given this joy to hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of people.  It is fair to say that the people in the picture above, all enjoying the Dave Matthews and Friends cruise, would never have had that moment were not for LeRoi Moore, founding member of the Dave Matthews band. Have you seen this music site? Dizzler.com?

Published by Richard under Music, My A-Musings

a quick review of dizzer comI just finished writing a review of RooshV’s website.

While I was writing, I referenced Paul Simon’s song 50 Ways To Leave Your Lover.  When I searched for the song on the Internet, this website popped up called Dizzler.com.  The Paul Simon song was there with the accompanying lyrics.

What a great site!  You can find the all the Top Raps Songs and locate most of the best songs ever.  It costs nothing, there are millions of songs, you can create your play-lists, view lyrics, and even download play-lists to your cell phone.  It’s pretty sweet.  Check it out!
